The Roman ruins of Voluibis, sit just outside of Meknes. The ruins are the most well-preserved archeological site in Morocco. The site contains more than 30 gorgeous mosaics in excellent condition that tell stories of the ancient Roman Empire. Visiting the ruins of Voluibis is an easy day trip from Fes and can be combined with a trip to Moulay Idriss. one of Morocco’s most important pilgrimage sites.
Meknes is one of the four Imperial cities of Morocco, located in northern central Morocco and the sixth largest city by population in the kingdom. Founded in the 11th century by the Almoravids as a military settlement, Meknes became capital of Morocco under the reign of Sultan Moulay Ismaïl (1672–1727), son of the founder of the Alaouite dynasty. Moulay Ismaïl turned Meknes into an impressive city in Spanish-Moorish style, surrounded by high walls with great doors

After the pick-up from the hotel we head out on the road, on a course toward the west until we reach Volubilis.
The ancient Roman city, where the most important archaeological remains of Morocco are found. You will learn much about this rich history on a guided tour with a local guide.
After the visit we will head to Mulay Idrís, one of the most important pilgrimage centers in the country.
It is a small town where you can get to know the most interesting part of the medina in less than an hour.
The third stop will be Meknes, the humblest of the four Imperial Cities of Morocco. Free time to enjoy the city, stroll through its medina and soak in the souks.
