11 Days Morocco Tour from Marrakech Itinerary:

Day 1:Arrive in Marrakech

Desert Discovery Tours Driver/Guide will be more than happy to wait for you in front of the Airport, We will take you to your Hotel/Riad in Marrakech, free time there.

Day 2:Visit Marrakech with a local Guide

Today you will discover the hidden gems of Marrakech city with an accompanied official guide who will afford you with the rich history of Marrakech while you visit a selection of Marrakech’s historical attractions and sights.

You will visit the following attractions: 

  1. Bahia Palace
  2. Saadien tombs
  3. Medersa Ben Youssef
  4. Marrakech museum
  5. The depths of the souks 
  6. The Mellah or old Jewish quarter
  7. The Majorelle gardens

Day 3:Marrakech - Casablanca - Rabat

We will start our journey from Marrakech to Casablanca And start towards visiting Hassan 2 Mosque, Seaside (Cornich), then travelling to Rabat where you will visit Oudayas Kasbah, Hassan Tower, Mosuluem of Mohamed 5, after that we will take you to the hotel where you will have an Overnight stay. (RABAT).

Day 4:Rabat - Chefchaouen

Today, we will embark on a road trip towards the blue city “Chefchaouen”, after 4H driving we will reach Chefchaouen where you will start visiting the old Medina, Outa-el-Hamma Square, Jewish Quarter … In addition, you will see a wide variety of artisan shops, restaurants with terraces, and cafés where you can enjoy, relax and eat… Free time in Chefchaouen, and overnight stay in a Hotel.

Day 5:Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes

We will have breakfast at the riad in the morning before setting off on our journey to Volubilis, passing through the towns of Ouazan and the other Rif. Our trip to Volubilis is a chance to see ancient Roman remains and learn about the cultural heritage of Morocco. After that, we’ll visit Bab el Mansour and have lunch in Meknes, a city that dates back to the 17th century and is rich in history. We leave in the late afternoon and drive to Fes, where you’ll spend the night.

Day 6:Visit Fes with a local Guide

After breakfast, you will explore Fez on a Guided day tour, the cultural capital which is one of the most complete medieval Islamic cities in the world. Entering through Bab Ftouh, discover the Andalusian district, and admire the exterior of its mosque. Make your way through the tanning, dye working, and copper working neighborhoods to the place Seffarine. Then, to the University of Al- Karaouine which houses Africa’s oldest mosque. Pause in front of the mausoleum of the man who founded Fes, Idris I. Visit the place Nejjarine and admire its famous fountain.

Finally, explore the beautiful Nejjarine Museum of Wood Arts and Crafts. In the afternoon, continue your visit to the medina stopping in front of the « blue gate » of Fes, Bab Boujouloud: optional visit of the Attarine Medersa. Tour the city ramparts and pause at Borj Norj for a splendid medina view. Discover the ancient Jewish quarter and the outside of the Royal Palace. Next: the pottery district. Then, at the city’s outskirts, stop at an artisanal complex before ending the tour and returning to your Riad.

Day 7:Fes - Ifrane - Cedar Forest - Midelt - Ziz Valley - Merzouga desert Camel rides & Overnight stay in a desert camp)

The 7th day of our 11-day tour of Morocco will take us to the Sahara. Along the way, we’ll stop at many interesting places, like Ifrane, which is known as “Moroccan Switzerland.” We’ll stop at Cedar Forest to watch the monkeys jumping from tree to tree. Then, go south through the Middle Atlas Mountains and the large palm groves and oasis towns of the Ziz Valley in southern Morocco. Next, you’ll go to Erfoud, which is known for its dinosaur museums and dates.

We’ll ride camels through the Merzouga Desert to see the beautiful sunset over the erg Chebbi sand dunes. After the sun goes down, we’ll have dinner and spend the night in the middle of the Sahara desert in Morocco at a luxury desert camp in Merzouga. The sky will be clear and full of stars. After dinner, we’ll have fun at a Berber party with drums, and we’ll stay there for the night.

Day 8:Merzouga Desert Tour

We’ll do a discovery trip to Merzouga. We’ll go to the desert’s most interesting places. First, we’ll go see the Nomads, who still live in simple tents and make their living by raising horses, goats, and sheep. We’ll hang out with them for a while and find out more about how they live. Then we’ll go to Mifiss’s lead mine. We will also go to Khamlia, which is about 5 km from Merzouga and is a small town. Here, you’ll learn about another part of the Gnaoua way of life. They stuck to their own ways. You’ll learn about a lot of other places. There are, among other things, the sweeping views, the 4WD cars museum, and the desert oasis.

Day 9:Merzouga desert - Rissani - Todra Gorges - Dades valley

The sunrise over the Erg Chebbi sand dunes will be spectacular, so be sure to get up early to see it. After a morning meal and shower at the desert camp, you’ll be returned to Merzouga Village by camel or 4×4. We’ll get in the car and go to Rissani town, where we’ll walk around the town’s historic market, and it’s historical Ksars, museums… 

Then, we will continue our way to Dades Valley where we will travel along a list of Berber villages, including Mellab, Tinjdad, and Jourf, a village that is famous for its ancient irrigation wells. We’ll next move on to Todgha Valley and the towering 300-meter-tall canyons.  We will have a walk inside the gorge, then continue our way to Boumalne Dades where we will spend the night.

Day 10:Dades valley - Ouarzazate - Kasbah Ait ben Haddou - High Atlas Mountains - Marrakech

We will start our journey to Ouarzazate across a selection of valleys & scenic views including Roses valley and the Skoura oasis on our way to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, set around 27 kilometers outside Ouarzazate city. Innumerable Hollywood films—” Lawrence of Arabia,” “Gladiator,” “Kingdom of Heaven,” “Prince of Persia,” and many more—have made advantage of its stunning landscapes for filming. The fortified palaces known as historical castles are emblematic of the exotic architecture and culture heritage of Morocco.

After that, we will go across the “Tichka pass” in the High Atlas Mountains and arrive in Marrakech where we will finish our journey. 

Day 11:Free time & Airport Transfer

After breakfast -depending on your flight time. You can have some free time to stroll in the Medina of Marrakech, then pick you up at the Airport where our 11 Days Morocco Itinerary ends.
