From there, you’ll embark on a picturesque drive to the Moroccan capital, Rabat. Dive into Rabat’s rich history with a visit to the iconic Hassan Tower, a minaret filled with historical significance. Your exploration continues with a trip to the Oudayas Kasbah, an ancient fortress distinguished by its charming blue and white hues. Immerse yourself in the culture at the Mausoleum of Mohamed V, paying tribute to Morocco’s esteemed leaders. As the day unfolds, enjoy a leisurely seaside stroll along the Corniche, taking in the refreshing coastal breeze. Finally, settle in for a comfortable overnight stay in Rabat.
Today, our road trip continues to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. In this historic town, you’ll have the chance to explore a range of captivating attractions and sites. These include Lahdim Square, which stands as Morocco’s second-largest square. Additionally, don’t miss the opportunity to marvel at Bab Al Mansour, one of Morocco’s most splendid gates, located adjacent to the square. For those seeking a unique experience, a visit to Qara prison is a must, as it resembles a subterranean labyrinth nestled within Meknes.
En route to Fes, we’ll make a stop at Volubilis, once the capital of the Mauritanian kingdom and now a fascinating collection of Roman ruins. Finally, as the day draws to a close, we’ll continue our journey to Fes, where you’ll enjoy your second overnight stay.
On the third day of our 6 days tour from Casablanca to Marrakech, you will have a guided day tour of Fes, where you will walk through the walled streets and watch the daily procession of mourners entering the tomb of Fez’s founder Moulay Idriss II. The Medina of Fez was founded in the 9th century and is home to the oldest university in the world.
Spend the day exploring the old city, visiting, Mederassa Bou Inania, the tanneries, and the splendid Funduk Nejjarine, a beautifully restored 18th-century inn. You will have also a chance to explore the Tanneries, Ceramic factories,… and much more. Overnight stay in Fes at an authentic Riad.
We’re continuing our 6 days desert tour from Casablanca and moving on from Fes to the Sahara desert via a scenic road that is full of plenty of attractions on the way. Our first stop will be in Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco for its alpine climate. Then, we’ll pass through hills covered in forests of cork oak and large cedar trees, where we will have a chance to see the monkeys. We’ll cross the Middle Atlas mountains and get our first look at the unique architecture of southern Morocco. Going down into the desert plains, the scenery changes from tall mountains to a big oasis with many fortified villages and Ksours.
Then, we’ll reach a wide, stony area that marks the edge of the Sahara. As the sun goes down, we’ll ride camels into the orange sand dunes. You’ll have plenty of time to explore and enjoy the vast Merzouga desert dunes. When the sun sets, we’ll have a Moroccan dinner with live music by the campfire. Afterward, you can explore again, this time under a sky full of stars and the quietness of the Sahara night.
The sunrise over the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi will be amazing, so make sure to wake up early to see it. After having breakfast and a shower at the desert camp, you’ll be taken back to Merzouga Village by camel or 4×4. We’ll then drive to Rissani, where you can explore a museum with fossils and take a leisurely walk around the historic market.
Our journey will continue through several Berber villages like Mellab, Tinjdad, and Jourf, which are known for their ancient wells. Next, we’ll reach Todra Valley and the tall, 300-meter canyons of the Todra Gorges. The water’s force might have carved its way through the rocks’ cracks. We’ll take a walk inside the gorge and then head to Ouarzazate through Boumalne Dades and Roses Valley. Moreover, you will have the chance to see the Skoura Oasis and Amridil Kasbah, arriving in Ouarzazate in the evening for an overnight stay.

EXCELLENT Based on 246 reviews Brian E2025-01-17Verified Excellent Nine Day Tour of Morocco My wife and I just completed an excellent private 9 day tour from Marrakech to Tangier, via the desert, Fes and Chefchaouen. Our excellent guide Hammou drove us over 1000 miles through the country, sharing the history of Morocco as well as his own interesting life story growing up as a nomad in the desert. All of the accommodation was excellent (except the desert was very cold). The hotel in Fes was spectacular. The food was excellent everywhere. I would say the day in Fes was the highlight of the tour - what an amazing city! Andreea I2025-01-16Verified 2 weeks itinerary Morocco I am glad we found this agency when looking to plan a two weeks trip to Morocco. The planning discussions went smoothly and all our requests were incorporated in a tailored itinerary that made the most of our time in Morocco. All riads were spot on, with professional employees, ready to support in any query. Our guide and driver, Mustapha, showed a lot of flexibility and patience with all our requests in stopping for photos, reaching specific restaurants or touristic attractions that we wanted to see. We learnt a lot about the history, culture and customs of the Moroccan people during our trip.We couldn't ask for more to make this a perfect trip.I highly recommend reaching out, if you want a stress free trip. Will S2025-01-11Verified Highly Recommend Desert Discovery Tours! This was a once in a lifetime kind of trip for us! We normally travel independently and initially planned to book a desert trip from Fes to Marrakech but ended up asking Desert Discovery Tours to also help with transport for the whole trip from Casablanca to Rabat, Chefchaoen and Fes. Our driver Mustapha was amazing and the van was clean and comfortable. He was knowledgeable and passionate about the local area. We enjoyed the whole of Morocco but the desert was definitely the highlight. We stayed two nights at Tiziri Luxury Camp and it was amazing. Most travellers seem to spend only one night but we were glad to have an extra night. We travelled with our seven-year-old son and he loved it. We were wary to book a random tour off the internet but based on the reviews and professional replies to my emails (unlike some of the other tour companies we reached out to) felt confident and we can now definitely vouch for Desert Discovery Tours! Michael2025-01-09Verified Excellent: 4 day/ 3 night Marrakesh to Fes My wife and I had an excellent tour (4 day/3 night Marrakesh to Fes). Accommodation was high standard, driver/guide Mustapha was friendly and knowledgeable. He was also able to adapt the tour to our wishes, including taking us well off the tourist tracks. Highly recommended! alyssamac182024-12-29Verified Authentic 9 day tour of Morocco My husband and I enjoyed an incredible 9 day tour with Desert Discovery Tours earlier this month. Every destination was just as beautiful and unique as the one before. Our driver Mustapha was full of knowledge and great recommendations. He always went above and beyond with any question or request that we had. We both really appreciated his kindness and professionalism throughout the whole trip. If you’re thinking about booking a guided tour in Morocco, this is the company to use! We hope to book again whenever we make it back to Morocco! Thank you so much to Mustapha and Desert Discovery Tours for our unforgettable trip :) Karen2024-12-13Verified An excellent 4D3N Sahara Desert Trip from Fes to Marrakech Desert Discovery Tours did an excellent job in ensuring we had a great time in Morocco! We were transported from Fes to Merzouga during our 1st day. The tour made interesting stops for both photos & sightseeing along the way to make the 8 hour drive truly enjoyable! We stayed at 3 beautiful places (including the luxury desert camp) during the 3 nights. All 3 accommodations were wonderfully clean & spacious. Their staff provided a high standard of Moroccan hospitality - complete with yummy breakfast & dinner. Our luxury desert camp fully equipped with toilet & shower facility was in a perfect location away from the noise & buzz of other campsites in the desert. On the last day of our tour, we traveled from our stay near Dades Gorges to Marrakech. Once again the interesting stops made the otherwise long 6-hr drive fun!A special shout out to our guide Mustapha (NK) who was awesome! He took great care of us & was highly responsible & reliable. As 3 ladies traveling to an unfamiliar place, we felt totally safe & comfortable to have him as our guide. He provided just enough interesting nuggets of info about Moroccan customs, lifestyle, language & history & each site of interest, to whet our appetite, but not lose our attention.Importantly, he drove skilfully, ensuring we did not suffer from motion sickness, while making good time! He was excellent company, observant, thoughtful, sharing insightful life experiences that greatly enriched our lives and widened our worldview! We are deeply grateful he was our guide in this special segment of our visit to Morocco. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour conpany & guide! Frances S2024-11-19Verified A perfect desert tour! My mother and I did a short tour from Marrakesh out to the desert and then back to Fez. Mustafa was our guide and was absolutely incredible. He is so knowledgeable and kind and answered our thousands of questions! He was also super flexible and willing to make adjustments to our itinerary to accommodate our interests and energy at different points. The team organized a great tour, including wonderful places to stay. I’m always a little nervous about having a tour company book my hotels, but they made great choices. Strongly recommend arranging your travel with Desert Discovery Tours!!
