This 5-day private desert tour from Marrakech begins and ends in Marrakesh, and take a grand tour of the desert, including the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs and the giant dunes of Erg Chebbi.
Today, our journey start as we head towards the Sahara desert. Our first stop will be at Todra gorges, where you’ll have the opportunity to freely explore and admire the stunning grand canyons and the green Todra valley. We’ll drive through various Berber villages along the way, such as Tinjdad, Mellab, Jorf, and Erfoud, offering you the chance to relish the beauty of Tafilalte Oasis and its palm groves.
As we proceed to the Sahara desert Merzouga, you’ll find a waiting caravan of camels ready to offer you the ultimate experience in the Erg Chebbi dunes. The camel ride will be around 2H with a sunset break, allowing you to hike through the captivating Merzouga sand dunes. In the journey to the authentic desert camp, there will be ample time to relish the sunset amidst the vastness of the Sahara, you can also try Sandboarding (optional).
Once you arrive at your destination, a warm welcome with tea and smiles awaits you. Following a delicious dinner, you can enjoy the cozy atmosphere by the campfire, accompanied by the mesmerizing music of Berbers and the gentle presence of camels under the starry night sky. The adventure concludes with an overnight stay in the desert camp.
The following day, on our tour, You will wake up early to appreciate an incredible sunrise over Erg Chebbi sand dunes. After breakfast & shower in the desert camp. We will explore the Merzouga desert and its incredible sites, from dunes, wild lakes, mines, and fossil areas to fabulous oases.
We start our journey in Merzouga, We will visit Nomads in their tents, on this way you will have a chance to dive deeply into Berber culture, and explore their lifestyle while sharing Berber tea at their authentic tents and enjoying the locals’ hospitality. Our next destination is the Khamlia village, where you will enjoy the Gnaoua music and dancing performances. Its inhabitants are originating from sub-Saharan countries like Mali, Sudan, and Niger. Then, at lunchtime, we take a stroll in a palm tree grove of Hassi Lbied Oasis. Later on, we will finish our desert discovery at your hotel to relax, overnight stay in a Hotel.
Today, we will start our drive back to Marrakech. In two days, we will begin our journey toward Rissani and Tafilalte Oasis. We will have a visit to the old Market That is why visiting Rissani on any day other than Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday would imply not do justice to the essence of this city, because you would miss a unique opportunity to connect with its past by visiting its vibrant souk (traditional market) where all the local merchants from the area come to do business in the Market.
Explore the historic capital of the Alaouite Sultans before continuing on to Alnif and Anti-Atlas Mountain. As you travel past the significant Berber communities of Tazzarine and Nkob, will travel along Draa Valley, which is known for its rows of towering palms. Drive to Ouarzazate in the late afternoon through the Anti-Atlas Mountain, once you arrive at Ouarzazate where you will have an overnight stay in a Riad.
After visiting Ouarzazate we will drive around 27 km of the road, and we will reach Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It has been used as a backdrop for shooting numerous Hollywood Movies including “Lawrence of Arabia”, “Gladiator”, “Kingdom of Heaven”, “Prince of Persia” and much more… The Kasbahs(fortresses) reflect the Exotic Moroccan architecture & culture. After exploring the kasbah, we will continue a little further on the High Atlas Mountains through the “Tichka pass” which will lead us to Marrakech.
