Along the way, we’ll stop at a lot of interesting places, like Ifrane, which is known as “Moroccan Switzerland.” We’ll stop at the Cedar forest to watch the monkeys swinging from tree to tree. Then, go south through the Middle Atlas Mountains and the large palm groves and oasis towns of the Ziz valley in southern Morocco. Then keep going to Erfoud, which is famous for its fossil museums and dates.

When we get to the Merzouga Desert, we’ll go on a camel ride and see the magical sunset over the erg Chebbi sand dunes. After the sun goes down, we’ll have dinner and spend the night in the middle of the Sahara desert in Morocco at a luxury desert camp in Merzouga. The sky will be clear and full of stars. The next place we’ll go is Todra valley, which has 300-meter-tall canyons called Todra gorges. If the water is strong enough, it may get through the cracks in the rocks. Today, we’ll go to Marrakech, on our way to Ouarzazate, passing through the Roses valley and the Skoura oasis on our way to the UNESCO World Heritage site Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, which is 27 kilometers from Ouarzazate. Its beautiful landscapes have been used in many Hollywood movies, such as “Lawrence of Arabia,” “Gladiator,” “Kingdom of Heaven,” “Prince of Persia,” and many more. Kasbahs, which are palaces with walls around them, show how different Morocco’s architecture and culture are.  After a walking tour to the Kasbah, we’ll drive through the “Tichka pass” in the High Atlas Mountains until we reach Marrakech.

Day 7:Visit Marrakech with a local Guide

Today is all about getting to know Marrakech. We will visit “the beautiful Red City of Marrakech,” where we can spend the whole day. First, Marrakech is an old city in Morocco that was once the capital. The name “Share of God” comes from the Berber language. Before Youssef Ben Tachafine built it, it was a small village of farmers. Sabbia soffice come zucchero a velo.

Fantastic Experience! 26/04- 01/05/2024 My husband, I and another couple of friends set off for our first experience in Morocco by relying on Desert Discovery Tours. We had some initial hesitations, but we were pleasantly surprised. Among the different proposals, we chose the 6 days and 5 nights tour in the desert. We traveled aboard a very comfortable Toyota Landcruiser and also perfect for exciting off-road excursions in the desert. Our guide (and driver), Ihouchine, was very helpful and equally discreet, always ready to share his knowledge of local culture and traditions. The riads and tented camps chosen for us were very comfortable. We tasted traditional foods in typical restaurants (the Tjine in all its "sauces", the couscous and the Moroccan salad were unmissable). The landscapes of the Atlas Mountains, the golden dunes, the starry skies, the spectacular sunrises and sunsets, the dromedary ride, the visits to the Berber villages, the Kasbahs and the mine were all unforgettable experiences. We recommend Desert Discovery Tours to anyone who wants an authentic, well-organized adventure.

Memorable trip with friends to Morocco Beautiful country and friendly hospitable people . And many thanks to Desert Discovery for the arrangements, recommendations and of course patiently helping us with paperwork for visa . Thanks Mustapha and Mustapha . Thanks to their diligent planning and customising to suit our requirements, we never felt any fatigue after the long drives accompanied by my dear friends and witty Mustapha for company 😁. ( And bollywood playlists in the background. ) Really enjoyed the myriad landscapes in Morocco from Ifrane ,Ziz valley , Dades, Merzouga to the busy medinas souks of Marrakesh and Fes . And the bluewashed Chefchaoun and urban Casablanca. Truly a treat for all senses . Including the acrobatic spider we met in Merzouga 🫣

Morocco, what a beautiful country An amazing experience with a great company! We engaged with Mustafa prior to our trip, customized our trip based on our target spots and timelines. His advice based on the local knowledge was invaluable. His recommendations of the Riads and restaurants were excellent. We were pleasantly surprised with the variety of vegetarian food in Morocco! Top your food with Harissa to give it the zing. The other Mustafa drove us around in a super comfortable van - 3000 in in 8 days and we never felt it. Morocco offers diverse topography- the dessert camp in the Sahara to the Dades Valley Gorge, the Medina in Fes and Marrakech and the Roman ruins in Vollubilis. A great trip for history buffs. The country values its heritage - Amazhir and Arabs. We had local guides in each of the cities arranged by Dessert Discivery. A country very safe for everyone and as a group of women we felt very safe thanks to Dessert Discovery Travels.

Amazing Tour That Exceeded Our Expectation A friend and I booked an 11 day tour with Desert Discovery Tours and had Mustapha as a guide. The tour itself was amazing. We saw so much of Morocco that we not have been able to see otherwise. It included lots of driving and Mustapha made us feel safe and comfortable along the journey. He was very professional and knowledgeable on the various site that’s we visited. If we ever needed anything, he was always reachable and helpful. I appreciate the companies ability to personalise the tour to our liking. We made changes along the way to suit our preferences and the company was able to accomodate these changes very quickly. It was all well organised from start to finish. The accomodation every single time was a 10/10. We stayed in some beautiful and luxurious hotels/riads. It was exciting to see what was next. The breakfasts were nice. Dinners were included in certain hotels, particularly those more isolated from towns, thus harder to find restaurants for dinner. Chefchaouen and the desert part of the tour was our favourite. Can’t wait to come back to Morocco and see even more next time.
