4 Days Desert Tour From Marrakech to Fes Itinerary:

Day 1:Marrakech - High Atlas - Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah - Ouarzazate - Roses valley - Dades Valley

Our 4-day Morocco desert tour will begin at your hotel in Marrakech. Travel over the high Atlas Mountains and through the famous Tizi-n-Tichka pass, which is the highest point in Africa. From the top, you can see the Berber villages made of adobe and the green valleys below. We will get to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou by going further south. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it has been used as the setting for many Hollywood blockbusters, such as “Gladiator,” “Alexander,” and some scenes from the popular TV show “Game of Thrones.”

We will keep going down the Atlas Mountains until we get to Ouarzazate. After lunch, you can take a side road to Skoura Oasis, which is full of palm trees and fortified Kasbahs. We will pass through the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs as you head east. It was very interesting because it had a fortified Kasbah in the middle of palm trees. You keep going to Kel’aa M’gouna after the Valley of the Roses. You can go to local cooperatives that make cosmetics there. We’ll get to Dades valley, where you’ll spend the first night of the tour.

Day 2:Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Berber Villages - Erg Chebbi Merzouga (Camel ride & overnight in a desert camp)

We will depart on the 2nd day of our 4 Days Desert Tour from Marrakech to Fes to Todra Gorge across the Berber villages. We’ll stop to admire the beautiful Todra valley full of palm trees before we arrive to Todra Gorges that are currently one of the most popular rock climbing destinations in Morocco, here we will have a short walk through its gray and pink high canyons that can reach 300 M. After that we’ll head to Tinjdad and Touroug where we’ll have lunch then to Erfoud which will feel the beginning Saharan oasis of Tafilalet.

Afterward, we will continue the journey to the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes, once we arrive there you will go on a camel ride for about 1H30 min in order to reach the desert camp, during the Camel trek you will take a break in the middle of the dunes to watch the sunset, experience the sandboarding (optional), take photos and enjoy the scenery… after the sun goes down you will continue to the camp where you will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea, dinner, campfire, music party, spend the night at a Merzouga luxury desert camp, dinner & breakfast included.

Day 3:Merzouga Desert Tour - 4x4 Discovery

After breakfast today, we’ll go on a tour of the Merzouga desert. We’ll see the most interesting parts of the desert. First, we’ll go see the Nomads, who still live in simple tents and raise camels, goats, and sheep for a living. We’ll spend some time with them and learn more about how they live. Then we’ll go to Mifiss’s mine of plumb. We will also go to Khamlia, a small village about 5 km from Merzouga. Here, you’ll learn about another part of the Gnaoua’s way of life. They kept their own traditions. You will find out about many other places. There’s the panoramic views, the 4WD cars museum, and the desert oasis, among other things. Overnight stay in a Hotel (dinner & Breakfast included).

Day 4:Merzouga Desert - Ziz Valley - Midelt - Cedar Forest - Ifrane - Fes

If you get up early this morning, you’ll get to see a peaceful and beautiful sunrise. After a delicious breakfast in the camp, you can either ride back on a camel or take a 4×4 vehicle. then we will leave Merzouga desert, driving to Fez for around 8H. On the way, you’ll stop at a place with a great view of the Ziz Valley, which has palm trees and a few villages. We will have a plenty of stops along the road, We will see the Barbary monkeys in the Cedar forest of the Middle Atlas. Stop for a break and a cup of coffee in Ifrane, which is known as the Switzerland of Morocco. Then continue to the historical city of Fes where our 4 Days tour from Marrakech to Fes ends.

We were really happy with the experience. Our driver was called Rachid and it was really nice. We did breaks whenever we needed them, he would answer all our questions, and also tell us inside information about the places we’ve been, the people and culture.
