Your 2 Nights Camel trek in Merzouga desert begins in the late afternoon, around 5:00–6:00 PM, at a hotel located near the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, you’ll meet your desert guide and prepare for the journey ahead. The camels will be loaded with everything needed for the trek, food, blankets, and essential supplies. Once everything is ready, you’ll mount your camel and begin the peaceful ride into the heart of the Sahara, a journey that takes about an hour and a half. As you cross the golden dunes, the scenery becomes increasingly dramatic, giving you perfect moments for unforgettable photographs.
Upon approaching the camp, you’ll leave the camels behind and walk up one of the high dunes to watch the sunset. The view from the top is simply breathtaking — the sky gradually shifting from warm gold to deep red as the sun disappears behind the desert horizon. Once back at camp, you’ll enjoy a hearty Berber dinner followed by traditional music around the campfire. The clear desert sky reveals countless bright stars, creating a magical atmosphere before you settle into your private nomad tent for the night.
The next morning begins with a peaceful breakfast at the camp before you set off on another camel ride deeper into the desert. You will visit a nomadic family living among the dunes, giving you a unique chance to experience authentic Saharan life. During the visit, you’ll learn how traditional Berber pizza is prepared and enjoy it for lunch with the family. After some time to relax and enjoy the silence of the desert, you’ll continue your camel journey back toward the main camp.
Upon arrival, you’ll drop off the camels and head toward the dunes to enjoy sandboarding or simply explore the surrounding area. As evening approaches, you’ll once again climb a dune to watch the magical desert sunset before returning to the camp for your second night. Another delicious dinner, warm hospitality, and traditional music await you under a star-filled sky.
On the final morning, you’ll wake early to witness the sunrise, one of the most beautiful moments in the Sahara. After the sun comes up, you’ll ride the camels back to Merzouga village. Once you arrive, you’ll be welcomed with breakfast and the opportunity to shower at the hotel, concluding your incredible desert journey.
