    You’ll meet your guide for a quick lesson on riding in the desert, safety, and the route. As your Merzouga Moto KTM tour begins, and after getting your gear ready and feeling comfortable on the strong KTM bike, you’ll start riding out of the village and into the wide desert. As you ride, the land changes from hard dirt to soft sand, and the dunes appear in front of you. Once you’re deep in the golden heart of Erg Chebbi, the fun really begins: you’ll ride over sand hills, climb up steep dunes, and speed across wide areas where the Sahara seems to go on forever.

    Your guide will take you through different types of land to help you get used to riding on dunes. You’ll stop now and then for rest, pictures, and amazing views. As you go deeper into the desert, the scenery changes again, taking you to large rocky areas called hamada. Here, the riding becomes faster and more open as you smoothly ride across dark volcanic land with mountains far in the distance. Depending on the route and time, you might stop at a small desert family’s camp or a hidden oasis, where you can enjoy a quiet cup of tea and see how people live away from the cities.

    The last part of your ride takes you through a mix of desert paths sand, gravel, and compact dirt that give you one last rush of excitement.
