Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to begin exploring this vibrant city at your own pace. Wander through Casablanca’s modern districts, Hassan II mosque, or walk on the corniche.
Casablanca presents a perfect introduction to Morocco, offering a fascinating blend of contemporary urban life, rich cultural experiences, and historic architecture, from art deco buildings to iconic landmarks, giving you a first taste of the country’s unique charm and energy.
Begin your day with a visit to the magnificent Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, an architectural masterpiece overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Admire the mosque’s striking exterior, with its soaring minaret, intricate mosaics, and elegant craftsmanship. From there, continue your journey to Morocco’s capital, Rabat, a city that perfectly blends historical grandeur with modern charm. Explore its iconic landmarks, including the picturesque Oudaya Kasbah with its blue-and-white walls and serene gardens, the imposing Hassan Tower, and the beautifully crafted Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a testament to Morocco’s rich royal heritage.
After immersing yourself in Rabat’s history, head north along the Atlantic coast to the tranquil town of Asilah. Famous for its pristine whitewashed medina, fortified seaside ramparts, and colorful artistic murals adorning the streets, Asilah offers a peaceful and inspiring setting, perfect for wandering at your own pace and soaking in the town’s calm, creative atmosphere.
Depart from the charming coastal town of Asilah and journey toward Tangier, a city where the sparkling waters of the Mediterranean gracefully meet the vast Atlantic Ocean. Upon arrival, embark on a captivating city tour that highlights Tangier’s rich history and diverse culture. Explore the ancient Kasbah, perched atop the hills with its labyrinthine streets and panoramic views of the coastline.
Wander through the vibrant old medina, where bustling souks and traditional markets offer a glimpse into local life, and visit the historic Grand Socco square, a lively hub that has long been at the heart of the city’s social and cultural scene. Along the way, take in scenic coastal viewpoints that reveal breathtaking vistas of the ocean and surrounding landscapes. Tangier is a fascinating melting pot, shaped by Spanish, Moroccan, and international influences, offering a unique cultural experience where history, art, and maritime charm seamlessly come together.
Head toward Tetouan, often called “The White Dove” for its Andalusian architecture and bright white buildings. After a short city visit, continue through the Rif Mountains until you reach Chefchaouen. The journey itself is scenic and peaceful, offering glimpses of mountain life before arriving at Morocco’s most photogenic blue city.
Spend the day wandering through Chefchaouen’s iconic blue-painted streets. Explore its old medina, visit the Kasbah Museum, and enjoy views from the Spanish Mosque overlooking the city. Chefchaouen is a relaxing and artistic stop, perfect for photography, shopping for handmade crafts, or simply enjoying traditional mint tea in a peaceful square.
Leave the majestic Atlas Mountains behind and journey toward Volubilis, the remarkable ancient Roman ruins that stand as a testament to Morocco’s rich historical tapestry. Wander among well-preserved mosaics, towering columns, and intricate architectural remnants while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding fertile countryside, where olive groves and rolling hills stretch as far as the eye can see. From there, continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s illustrious imperial cities, where history comes alive through its grand monuments.
Admire the intricately decorated Bab Mansour Gate, explore the vast Royal Stables, and stroll through the bustling old medina, absorbing the vibrant colors, scents, and sounds of daily Moroccan life. Your journey culminates in Fes, the country’s cultural and spiritual heart, where centuries of tradition, art, and learning converge, offering an immersive experience in one of Morocco’s most iconic and historically rich cities.
Today is all about exploring Fes. You’ll walk through the old part of the city, Fes el-Bali, which is like a living museum of medieval times. You’ll see traditional tanneries where leather is dyed, visit places where artisans make crafts, and look at old schools and mosques. Your guide will take you through the narrow streets, which are full of history and skill. It feels like you’re stepping back in time.
On the way, you’ll stop in Ifrane, a town with European-style buildings, and walk through cedar forests where you might see wild Barbary macaques. Then you’ll reach Midelt, a peaceful mountain town surrounded by beautiful landscapes and valleys. This is a nice stop before moving on to the Sahara.
Today, the scenery changes dramatically as you drive through gorges, oases, and desert areas until you reach Merzouga, the starting point of the Sahara.
In the late afternoon, you’ll ride a camel on the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi and watch the sunset. You’ll spend the night in a desert camp, where you can enjoy traditional music and look up at the stars.
Leave the Sahara and travel through the Todra Gorge, a place with high cliffs and green valleys with palm trees. You’ll drive through narrow canyons and enjoy the amazing natural beauty. Then you’ll go through the Dades Valley, also called the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs,” where old villages stand out against the desert. As you approach Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert,” you’ll explore its film studios and ancient kasbahs that show Morocco’s rich history.
You’ll visit the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO site and a movie location. Then you’ll drive through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, taking in amazing views. You’ll arrive in Marrakech, a lively city with lots of color and energy.
Spend the day checking out Marrakech’s historical places like the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, the Koutoubia Mosque, and the bustling Jemaa el-Fnaa square. You’ll walk through colorful markets, taste local food, and admire the beautiful architecture of this royal city.
After breakfast, you’ll travel west to Essaouira, a calm coastal town with an artsy feel, fresh seafood, and long beaches. The blue-and-white medina offers a peaceful contrast to the busy streets of Marrakech.
Spend the day exploring Essaouira at your own pace. You’ll walk along the busy harbor, look at colorful fishing boats, and feel the local vibe. You can visit galleries that show Moroccan art, or wander through the medina, which has lots of interesting places to see. You’ll also walk along old seaside walls with great views of the ocean, or just relax on the beach, listening to the waves. Essaouira is a great place to unwind and enjoy a quiet escape.
Begin your Luxury 16 Days Morocco Itinerary back to Casablanca, traveling through picturesque landscapes of rolling farmlands, quaint villages, and scenic stretches along the Atlantic coast. Enjoy the changing scenery as you leave behind Morocco’s rural charm and approach the vibrant energy of its largest city.
Upon arrival in Casablanca, you will have some free time to spend as you wish. Posted on DayTrip56989979233Verified Wonderful tour This was an amazing experience. Our driver, Mustapha, was a fabulous guide. We were so comfortable in the van and saw so many beautiful places. We had the perfect amount of time with guides and time on our own to explore. I would definitely recommend Desert Discovery Tours!!Posted on Andrea BVerified A great experience in the desert All locations that we have visited are stunning and beautiful. This desert tour is such a wonderful experience. The guide has always been at our disposal for any of our needs and everything very well organized. I asked a lot of information before the tour directly via email and I always received clear and timely responses, which is a minor detail but contributes to making this a great experience overall. Posted on Ina BVerified Awesome two weeks in Morocco We used the 11 day tour itinerary as a starting point, added three days, and adjusted the tour to our liking. We flew into Marrakesh and left from Casablanca. Mustapha was super helpful to tweak the individual items and addressed all our questions quickly until we had it all planned out. Our trip was great! We were really surprised by the variety of things we saw and the beauty of landscapes throughout the trip. There was quite a bit if driving involved and we were really happy that we didn't have to do the driving ourselves, especially in the big cities. It was so much more relaxed to just sit and have someone drive who's used to that kind of traffic and knows his way around. We had the same driver for the entire time, which was really pleasant. In the cities we had specialized tour guides to show us around. One of our highlight was surely the two nights in the desert camp. It was a truly special experience and we were so lucky with the weather, having perfect conditions and no storms. The camp was very comfortable, the camel ride super fun and we highly recommend you don't skip it. We felt that the true value of a private organized trip is the peace-of-mind you get. There is no worrying about how to get from A to B, and you can just focus on enjoying your trip. It makes it so easy and worry-free. We can totally recommend Desert Discovery Tours, as they were great planning the tour with, considering our requests and organizing the whole trip very professionally. Our driver Youssef was super friendly and we felt that we were in good hands throughout.Posted on Anand IVerified Unforgettable 9-Day Morocco Adventure with Desert Discovery Tours We had an amazing experience with Desert Discovery Tours in Morocco! Our 8-night, 9-day journey covered nearly 1,200 miles and was incredibly well organized from start to finish. A special thanks to Mustafa for planning such a thoughtful and seamless itinerary. Every detail was well coordinated, and the trip allowed us to experience so much of Morocco’s beauty, culture, history, and landscapes without ever feeling rushed. The Riad stays throughout the trip were absolutely awesome — beautiful, authentic, comfortable, and full of charm. They really added to the overall Moroccan experience and made each stop memorable. Hassan was exceptional — not only an excellent driver for the long distances, but also a friendly, patient, and knowledgeable guide throughout the journey. He always made us feel comfortable and welcomed. In several cities, we also had specialized local guides who added great depth and insight to the experience. Overall, this was a memorable, smooth, and unforgettable trip. Highly recommend Desert Discovery Tours to anyone looking for an authentic and well-planned way to explore Morocco!Posted on GirishVerified Beautiful Morocco! We recently returned from a trip to Morocco organized by this fantastic team, and we couldn't be happier. From start to finish, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, ensuring our stay in this beautiful country was seamless. The itinerary was perfectly balanced; the pace was pleasant—giving us time to breathe—and the accommodations were consistently comfortable. A massive shout-out to our driver-guide, Brahim. He was more than just a driver; his great sense of humor and pleasant personality made the long drives feel like a highlight of the trip. The Sahara stay was a particular standout. Seeing the vast, quiet desert landscapes juxtaposed against the high energy of the bustling markets and towns was breathtaking. My only small critique would be that vegetarian food options were a bit limited in a couple of locations, but overall, the experience was world-class. Highly recommended!Posted on Raj RVerified Morocco Trip Our recent trip to Morocco was truly unforgettable, and we owe a big part of that to TripAdvisor for organizing such a seamless experience. From start to finish, everything was thoughtfully planned and executed. The itinerary covered some of the most beautiful and culturally rich places, and every destination felt unique and well worth visiting. The accommodations were comfortable, and the food was absolutely delightful—we got to experience authentic Moroccan cuisine, and every meal felt like a highlight in itself. A special mention goes to our guide, who was exceptional. He was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly and attentive. He stayed with us throughout the journey, making sure we were comfortable, informed, and fully immersed in the local culture. His insights and stories added so much depth to the experience. Transportation, timing, and overall coordination were smooth and stress-free, allowing us to truly relax and enjoy every moment of the trip. Overall, it was a beautifully curated experience, and I would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking to explore Morocco in a well-organized and enriching way.Posted on Cosimo FVerified Mustapha k Tour che ha superato le mie aspettative, i riad scelti dall agenzia erano tutti molto belli e di alto livello.
