The 9 Days Morocco Tour From Marrakech is designed for travelers who want to experience Morocco in its full diversity from mountain passes and ancient kasbahs to endless desert dunes and vibrant coastal cities. Starting in Marrakech, the route unfolds gradually through the High Atlas Mountains, traditional valleys, and the heart of the Sahara, before reaching the cultural north and finishing in Casablanca.
Along the way, you’ll cross dramatic landscapes shaped by centuries of caravan travel, explore UNESCO-listed heritage sites, and connect with Morocco’s living traditions—from Berber villages and desert nomads to imperial cities rich in history. Camel trekking across Erg Chebbi, nights under Saharan stars, the blue streets of Chefchaouen, and the Atlantic charm of Tangier and Asilah all come together in one carefully paced adventure.
This tour balances nature, culture, and authentic encounters, offering enough depth to truly understand Morocco rather than just passing through it.

Upon arrival in Marrakech, you’ll be welcomed at the airport and transferred to your riad or hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the chance to enjoy a short walk in nearby sights or relax.
After breakfast, the 9 Days Desert Tour From Marrakech travels through the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass. The road offers views of mountain villages, terraced fields, and winding valleys.
A detour takes you to Telouet, once a home of the powerful Glaoui family, where you’ll visit their historic kasbah and walk through nearby Berber villages.
Continuing on the old caravan route, you’ll arrive at Ait Ben Haddou, a striking fortified village recognized by UNESCO. After exploring the kasbah and having lunch nearby, you travel to Ouarzazate, known for its famous cinematic landscapes and historic kasbahs. Overnight in Ouarzazate.
You leave Ouarzazate and pass through Skoura’s palm groves, then go into the Rose Valley, well-known for its beautiful flowers and rose-based products. The route continues through the Dades Valley, with stops to admire rock formations and river views.
In the afternoon, you arrive at Todra Gorges, where high limestone cliffs stand on both sides of a narrow canyon. After some time to explore and have lunch, the journey continues east through desert towns like Tinjdad and Erfoud. By late afternoon, you reach the dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga. A camel trek takes you across the sand to a desert camp, where you’ll watch the sunset. After dinner and music, you sleep under the stars.
You wake up early to see the sunrise over the dunes and have breakfast at the camp. Returning to Merzouga, you travel to Rissani, where you visit a traditional souk that still reflects its past as a trade center.
The journey north follows the Ziz Valley, lined with thousands of palm trees, then climbs into the Middle Atlas Mountains. After lunch in Midelt, the route goes through cedar forests near Azrou, where you can see Barbary macaques. A stop in Ifrane, known for its alpine-style buildings, offers a contrast to the desert before you arrive in Fes in the evening. Overnight in a riad.
This day is devoted to exploring Fes, Morocco’s oldest imperial city. With a local guide, you walk through the medina, visiting places like the Royal Palace gates, the Jewish Quarter, Al Quaraouiyine University, traditional tanneries, and old madrasas. After lunch, you visit a tile and craft cooperative and enjoy panoramic views of the medina.
You leave Fes for Meknes, once the capital under Sultan Moulay Ismail. Explore monumental gates, city walls, and historic structures before continuing to the Roman ruins of Volubilis.
Walk through ancient mosaics and columns that are nearly 2,000 years old, giving insight into life in North Africa during the Roman era. In the afternoon, you drive north through rolling hills to Chefchaouen, the famous blue city in the Rif Mountains.
Enjoy a relaxed morning exploring Chefchaouen’s blue-washed streets and quiet squares. Around midday, you travel toward Tangier, passing through Tetouan and the green landscapes of the Rif Mountains. You arrive in Tangier in the afternoon, with some time to relax or explore.
Begin the day with a guided visit of Tangier, including Cap Spartel, the Hercules Caves, and panoramic coastal viewpoints. Continue south to Asilah, a small seaside town known for its whitewashed walls and artistic atmosphere.
In Rabat, Morocco’s capital, visit key landmarks such as the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of the Udayas. In the late afternoon, arrive in Casablanca for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, enjoy a guided visit to the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Depending on your flight schedule, transfer to the airport or continue onward to Marrakech. End of the 9 Days Morocco Tour From Marrakech.

One of the best tour experiences i have ever had was in Morocco with Desert Discovery Tours. It helped me really appreciate the country as a beautiful cultural place, and it has turned into one of the favourite countries I have ever visited. The planning and length of the tour was well thought out and I was able to experience all the attractions that I wanted to see. Itinerary was also flexible and we were able to pace ourselves comfortably. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and even the external tour guides that the company provided when it came to private city tours were very professional. Cultural stops, such as the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, also greatly enriched the experience.A special compliment to the guide Brahim, always kind, professional and helpful, who made the tour even more enjoyable. Experience recommended.Posted on Eva M.Verified Morocco unforgettable!!! My partner and I set off on a 3-day (and two-night) private tour from Marrakech to the Merzouga Desert, returning to Marrakech. Our driver Omar welcomed us warmly and made us feel immediately at home, indeed, the van that had been reserved for us (very modern, clean and comfortable) and it soon became our home. Our guide accompanied us safely to all the scheduled stops giving us different explanations in Italian, also fulfilling our every request or wish. A special mention to the Riad Rihana Dades Hotel where we slept the first night: very nice and comfortable room but above all sublime dinner (and breakfast)!!!! The tented camp in the desert was another pleasant discovery. Very nice and full of every comfort. In general, the planned program, which allowed us to discover many different landscapes and realities, was totally respected for the excellent organization of the agency. I would definitely recommend desert discovery tours both for efficiency and for the people we met and who took care of us with kindness and professionalism. Another driver we want to remember is Ahmad, who accompanied us on the last day to Marrakech showing preparation and kindness. Thank you all, it was truly an authentic and unforgettable experience. Thanks to our guide IbrahimPosted on Lance KVerified 9-day tour through Morocco We did a custom 9-day private tour starting in Marrakech, through Dades valley then the deserts near Merzouga, continuing to Fes, Chefchaouen, and ending in Rabat/Casablanca, with stops along the way. Highlight was camping in the Sahara desert -- riding camels through the sands to reach the campsite, feeling the soft orange sands run through your fingers, listening to the drums by the fire under the stars -- it was quite the sensory experience. Our guide/driver Hsaine / Hassan was punctual, professional, and knowledgeable in many subject matters, able to converse in multiple languages. Highly recommended.
